Comfortable, easy to move, and matched to how your meetings actually run — that's really what you're after. For most offices, that means mesh chairs, executive chairs, or something on wheels, depending on the room.
Mesh Conference Chairs
Mesh is the go-to for everyday meetings. The back breathes, so people don't overheat during a long discussion, and a padded seat with decent back support goes a long way when meetings run past 30 minutes.
Look for a 5-star base with casters too — makes it way easier to scoot in and out around the table.
Executive Conference Chairs
Boardroom or client meeting? Executive chairs look the part — bigger backrest, thicker padding, leather or PU leather.
Just don't pick one on looks alone. If your meetings tend to run long, back support and armrest comfort matter more than how sharp the chair looks in photos.
Stackable or Mobile Chairs
Room doing double duty for training sessions or company events? Stackable chairs are the easy answer — set up, then stack and put away.
And if people are constantly turning, sliding closer, or shifting around during a discussion, chairs with wheels just make that less annoying.
So How Do You Actually Choose?
Start with the table and the room, not the chair. Figure out how many people, how long meetings usually run, and go from there.
A decent rule of thumb is 24–30 inches of table width per person, with enough space behind each chair that someone can walk past without squeezing by.
Mesh with casters for daily meetings. Leather or upholstered for the boardroom. Stackable if the room needs to flip between uses. None of that's set in stone — it just depends on your space.
