A mobile pedestal is a compact, wheeled storage unit that slides under or beside a desk - giving office workers organized access to hanging files, supplies, and personal items without leaving their seat. Most come in BBF (box/box/file) or FF (file/file) drawer configurations. The casters let it move wherever needed, making it especially useful in open-plan or reconfigurable workspaces. BBF stands for Box/Box/File - two shallower drawers on top for supplies and one deeper file drawer at the bottom for hanging folders. FF means File/File - two full file drawers stacked, giving you the most filing capacity per unit. DC means drawers/cabinets - 0ne full file drawers & one bag cabinets. BBF is the more versatile everyday choice for individual workstations; FF makes sense for roles that generate a lot of paperwork.
An office storage cabinet is a freestanding enclosed unit - with shelves, drawers, or a combination - used to organize and secure supplies, documents, equipment, and personal items in a workspace. They come in steel or laminate construction, a range of heights, and with locking or non-locking doors.
Most commercial storage cabinets include a combination lock or cylinder lock on the door.

Steel storage cabinets typically ship flat-pack and require basic assembly - attaching door hinges, installing shelves, and securing leveling legs.
Steel cabinets offer superior security with heavier-gauge doors and better lock systems, plus fire resistance - the right choice for industrial environments, healthcare, or settings with sensitive documents. Laminate cabinets are lighter, come in wood-grain finishes that match office furniture, and are typically less expensive. For a standard corporate or professional office environment, laminate is usually the better aesthetic choice. For anything requiring real document security or fire protection, go steel.
